Additional Information:  This set of Kiyotada chisels is pre-owned but retains a significant amount of service life. They were originally owned by an 83-year-old retired carpenter from the Kanto region. According to the previous owner, this set was custom-ordered in 1961 (Showa 36) from the renowned Suiheiya shop in Asakusa. It is a classic Mentori Oiri-nomi set featuring two unique custom widths: 21mm and 4.5mm.

I have performed a careful restoration and sharpening, prioritizing minimal material removal. During the honing process, the feedback from the high-quality steel was truly exceptional.

Furthermore, if compared with the Second-generation Ichihiro set, you will notice striking similarities in their silhouette—both are quintessential examples of the classic early Tokyo-style craftsmanship.

The Kiyotada marks for the 4.5mm and 3mm chisels are located on the tang.

Please contact me after purchase if you would like the handles replaced with Japanese White Oak by Mr. Tsuchida.
