Additional Information: This chisel is in lightly used condition with some minor surface rust, but the blade remains sharp. It was acquired directly from a retired carpenter in Chiba Prefecture. The first seller of this set of chisels was Suiheiya Shop in Asakusa.
What sets this chisel apart is the hand-forged kuchigane (ferrule), a feature that is relatively rare even among Kiyotada’s works. Judging by the exceptional precision and build quality, this is an early work by Kiyotada II, estimated to have been crafted in the 1980s.
