Additional Information: The chisel has seen long service, and after the blade grew shorter with use, the previous owner fitted an iron hoop (katsura) to the end of the wooden handle so it could serve as both an usu-nomi (paring chisel) and a chu-tataki-nomi (medium striking chisel). The chisel itself is crafted with high precision; while the handle is set slightly off-center, it presents no issue when used as a paring chisel. I have given it a basic sharpening, finishing both the bevel and ura to around #1000 grit. The steel quality is excellent, forming a complete wire burr across the edge, just like the vast majority of Kiyotada chisels.
