『MARK OF ICHIHIRO CHISELS』
1: Unclear Tsuki Ichihiro mark. This chisel was made during the era of the second generation Ichihiro（山崎勇 Yamazaki Isamu）. The mark was used before Showa 38（1963）. Because this year ichihiro(市弘) was registered as a trademark by a wholesaler.
2：Clear Tsuki Ichihiro mark. This one also was made during the era of the second generation Ichihiro（山崎勇 Yamazaki Isamu）. In addition, the 1&2 chisels do not have the mark of the Tokyo Chisel Smith Guild. The production time may be earlier than Showa 30（1955）.
3&4: The same marks are from tataki chisel and oire chisel. The mirrored Hidari Ichihiro（左市弘） mark indicates that these two chisels were made after Showa 38(1963). For the reason that wholesalers registered Ichihiro in 1963. These two were also made in the second generation Ichiro era. The mark of the Tokyo Chisel Smith Guild has early characteristics.
5:The most common ichihiro mark, this chisel was made in the third generation ichihiro era(山崎正三 Yamazaki Shouzou).The mark of the Tokyo Chisel Smith‘s Guild has late character. The Japanese hiragana ”み“ is not obvious in the circle. The entire maek looks more like a ball.
6:Tataki chisel with early characteristic Tokyo Chisel Smith‘s Guild mark and original tsugi ichihiro mark. But this chisel was made in the third generation ichihiro(山崎正三 Yamazaki Shouzou) around the 1975. Because the wholesaler who holds the rights to the Ichihiro mark commissioned the third generation Ichihiro to make it, the chisel uses the original mark.
