Compared to this vague description of steel, I prefer to believe Mr. Ishikoso's research report(現代鍛冶技法の保存調査報告 その2［舟弘］銘・船津祐司の鑿製作) published in the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum Research Bulletin No. 25 in 2014.
