Additional Information: Lightly used, in good condition. High quality kouzaburo hammer from a retired carpenter in the Kanto area. The hammer is made with high precision and the wooden handle is installed precisely and reasonably.
The Anayadaiku Type Genno has two features that are different from other Genno:
※ Both ends are flat striking face;
※ At the same weight, Anaya Daiku Genno is taller and thinner.
Anayadaiku's work only uses a hammer to hit the end of the chisel's wooden handle to make the mortise hole, The hammers they use don't have a domed striking surface.
" One face of ryouguchi gennou hammer is flat, and the opposite face is slightly domed. The flat face is used for striking chisels and nails, while the domed face can be used for the last couple of hits on a nailhead to recess it below the wood’s surface. Although hammers of the same weight generate the same amount of kinetic energy when they are swung down, a genno (a short, fat type) with a larger striking surface transmits the energy more dispersedly, but the Anayadaiku type genno is more concentrated when transmitting kinetic energy.
The 180 monme or 200 monme Anayadaiku genno usually comes in two height sizes: 4寸1分 (about 123mm)or 4寸 3分 (about 130mm). Mr. Tsuchida Noboru told me that Anayadaiku and Chiyotsuru Korehide felt that the 130mm height genno was more effective in transferring energy.
