This douzuki saw uses the traditional Ibara-me (茨目, a type of saw teeth). It is a tooth that cuts both cross-cutting and rip-cutting , with a stronger focus on cross-cutting. Most cross-cut Japanese saws now use teeth called Edo-me (江戸目). According to online information, Edo-me appeared in the Edo region around the 19th century.
Judging from the shape and sharpness of the teeth of this saw. The craftsman who sharpened and adjusted the saw was very skilled. The teeth were small but uniform in shape and finely sharpened.
