Additional Information: This is an unused plane. It comes from a retired miyadaiku (a carpenter specializing in shrines and temples) living in the Tokyo area. According to him, the blade is the work of Ishido, which he purchased back when he was a young apprentice. He had a substantial collection of planes, and another plane by Uichi Ochiai himself also came from him.
Regarding the specific maker of the blade, I consulted Mr. Tsuchida. While he cannot definitively distinguish between Ishido Teruhide and Ishido Hideo for now, he confirmed that it is indeed an authentic Ishido work, and the jigane is high-quality watetsu (traditional Japanese iron).
Notably, the two kao (carved ciphers) flanking the brand name “Terukatsu“(輝勝) on the blade's face contain the same text/design seen on blades confirmed to be by Ishido Hideo, though the execution differs slightly—suggesting it was very likely carved by Ishido Teruhide.
In short, this is an Ishido blade crafted with high precision and premium watetsu, most likely dating back to the period when Ishido Teruhide and Ishido Hideo worked together.
