Sato Miyaji was a disciple of the first generation of Hatsuhiro(初弘). In fact, Miyaji is the son of the first generation Hatsuhiro's brother. Miyaji's two elder brothers also trained under Master Hatsuhiro. One of his elder brothers became the second generation Hatsuhiro, another one became an independent blacksmith, with the brand name Hatsuyuki(初行). Miyaji became the adopted son of Sato family, so his family name was changed to Sato.
As far as I know, Miyaji's works are well regarded in the Hatsuhiro group and are made with high precision. His most popular and common brand is Denju(伝寿), I have seen 2 or 3 Kumajiro brand blades in the past 5 or 6 years, but none of them are in as good a condition as this one.
