Additional Information: Used. I purchased it from a descendant of a retired carpenter. The wooden body has some bends and needs repair before use, and recommended to use the blade after "Uraradashi"
The blade is interesting, so I asked Mr. Tsuchida for his opinion and he told me that it was most likely used to process hardwood in the early Showa period. For this reason it is made thicker than was common for blades of the era. Even so, it is still thinner than some current blades. The blacksmith's forging skills are good, the blade is made with nice precision, and there is no trace of using a grinding machine on its surface processing.
I sharpened the bevel to 400 grit. The steel felt hard to me during the sharpening process.
