According to the carpenter, the kebiki was created by a artisan named Yoshinari Noboru, who lived in Nasu-Karasuyama, Japan. Besides being a skilled artisan, he was also a member of the Nasu-Shiobara Onsen Village Local Chronicle Research Association.
This Kebiki features exquisite workmanship with a smooth-sliding blade. The body is crafted from curly maple, while the laminated section uses rosewood. This is the final Yoshinari Noboru-made marking gauge from the carpenter's private collection.
