Manufacture Era: Before 1940
Additional Information: Used, It came from a retired carpenter and is still usable after being adjusted and sharpened. I did a basic sharpening of the blade, and sharpened the bevel and ura to about 5000 grit.
Since there are many fake Kunihiro pieces, I asked Mr. Tsuchida Noboru to authenticate this blade and he confirmed it to be authentic.
Unlike another 63mm blade from the same blacksmith, this blade was made thicker. This is because a wider blade needs to be installed on a wider wooden body, and a wide wooden body is more likely to deform. A thicker blade can prevent the problems caused by the deformation of the wooden body to a certain extent.
The Japanese characters "たかのは/Takanoha" on the left and right sides of the blade in the fourth picture mean “eagle feathers”. The two crossed feather-like marks in the middle are called "たかのは/Takanoha" in Japan, and here they are used as the family crest of the Kunihiro family.
