Additional Information: This saw comes from the collection of a retired carpenter in the Kanto region. It has barely been used and is in excellent condition. The blade has been fully tuned—straightened and sharpened—by Mr. Tsuchida.

The blacksmith who forged this saw is likely from the Niigata region. When I went to pick up the saw after Mr. Tsuchida finished sharpening it, he told me that the blacksmith had tempered it to be quite hard, yet it still retains good toughness. I believes it is a saw with excellent edge retention.
