Kugishime Japanese Hand made Nail Set

Additional Information: Unused, good condition. Found in a professional tool store in Tokyo, also includes the recently uploaded Kunihide chisels and planes.

It is different from the commonly seen kugishime. The grip part is thickened and the cross section is geometric rather than circular. This makes the grip more comfortable and stable when using this kugishime. In addition, the enlarged striking surface at the top also makes it more convenient to use.

Judging from its precision of finish, surface treatment, and remaining file marks, it was most likely the work of a Tokyo chisel blacksmith. If I were to speculate, it is most likely the work of Hasegawa Fujisaku.
