Metate Yasuri Japanese Fine Files for Sharpening Hand Saws

These are old stock fine files I found from a pro tool store. Used for the final fine sharpening of the teeth on the Japanese saw. Made in Kure city, Hiroshima, these fine files are no longer in production.

Four types of equipment available
Divided into

Large (大挽切・Dai-Hikiri), 100mm Length. The thickest part of the file isabout 1.80mm.

Medium (中挽切・Chu-Hikiri)，90mm Length. The thickest part of the file is about 1.55mm.

Small (小挽切・Sho-Hikiri)，85mm Length. The thickest part of the file is about 1.30mm.

Extra small(毛志・Keshi)，80mm Length. The thickest part of the file is about 1.30mm.

There are three brands available:

1: Waku-Naga (Abbreviated as 長)

2:Tsubo-Tama  (Abbreviated as 玉)

3:Tsubo-Yoshi (Abbreviated as 吉)

Additional Information:  Large and medium sizes are suitable for the final fine sharpening of most saw teeth; Small and Extra small suitable for fine sharpening of Douzuki saws with smaller teeth. 

Among these brands, Tsubo-Tama(玉) has the best reviews.
