According to the owner, his father personally visited Toyama Jutaro to custom-order this kitchen knife. Online sources indicate that Toyama's forge was located in Echigo Shirone (north of Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture). His work was once featured on the cover of the Kezuroukai newsletter, and the legendary master carpenter Nishioka Tsunekazu was also known to deeply favor his kiridashi knives.
While his kiridashi knives are relatively common, his kitchen knives are extremely rare. Additionally, the jigane of this knife is quite fascinating.
