Additional Information: I bought this chisel a few years ago from the descendant of a retired carpenter in the Kansai region. At the time, I didn't know exactly when it was made, but I was drawn to its unique shape, which is quite different from modern chisels. The entire tool is noticeably leaner and longer than its modern counterparts of the same size. Recently, I consulted Mr. Tsuchida, and he told me that this style was popular in the Kansai region during the Edo period. A defining feature is its profile—looking from the side, the blade section thickens abruptly, becoming wider than the neck.
