Additional Information: Unused, in good condition. The "Ura" have some rust on the surface. The chisels' "kuchigane" are handmade. I bought it from a tool collector in Tokyo. He has quite a collection of Ichihiro chisels, and I bought this set because its shape is different from the common Ichihiro chisels.
I asked Mr. Tsuchida Noboru about its shape. He told me that this is a traditional (classic) Tokyo style oire chisel set made by the blacksmith Yamazaki Isamu. The current common Ichiro chisel shape emerged from the third generation of Ichihiro, becoming the distinctive "Ichiro" style. More details will appear in my blog, which I'm currently writing about Ichihiro blacksmiths.
Although I spent a lot of time taking some photos of this set of chisels, they are far from enough to show the superb skills of the second generation of Ichihiro chisel blacksmiths.
Ichihiro was known as the most precise blacksmith in Tokyo's post-WWII chisel industry. This set of chisels allows me to sense the inner energy of the second-generation Ichihiro. Although the overall flow (or musicality) of the chisels cannot yet rival the "artwork" of Chiyotsuru Korehide's chisels, but in the realm of practical tools, Ichihiro's chisels remain a representative example of chisel smiths that is hard to match.
