Additional Information:  This is a relatively rare wide-type Oire Nomi (Used), in good condition (There is some light surface rust, but it does not affect its functionality). I have performed a basic sharpening, the bevel to 1000 grit and the Ura (back) to 5000 grit. During the sharpening process, the steel produced a clean, wire-like burr that could be stripped away in a continuous thread.

Sourced from a retired carpenter in the Kanto region, the chisel’s specific style and thickness suggest it was originally sold by Tsuchida Shop. The shoulders feature a classic, traditional profile. Additionally, the wooden handle was recently re-fitted by Mr. Tsuchida.

Sharpening Tip: The previous owner applied pressure near the junction of the blade and the neck when honing the Ura (flat back), which is detrimental to the chisel's long-term service life. In my restoration, I shifted the pressure point toward the front of the blade to establish a new, flat reference surface. Please ensure that all future sharpening follows this new plane as your baseline.
