According to the information provided by the collector, this large plane was made specifically for Mr. Ishikoso's seminar at the Takenaka Museum about 10 years ago.
The collector did not provide further information about the seminar. I checked the official website of Takenaka Museum and found that Mr. Ishiko had three seminars in total.
The most recent one was the 58th seminar on March 16, 2013, with the theme of 「Plane Blacksmithing Technique Part 1 ~ "Mosaku" Norio Kanda」.
In addition, Mr. Ishikoso has two more seminars, the 40th「About the sharpness of the plane」on March 20, 2010 ;and the 21st, 「Knives and Blacksmiths-What was told by the Master」on January 20, 2007.
Based on the date information provided by the collector, it is most likely that this plane was made for the 58th seminar on March 16, 2013.
The last picture is the thickness distribution of the blade in mm. From this picture, we can see:
1:The "Nikuoki" setting of the blade is a traditional design, with the middle part of the blade has been treated to reduce thickness. According to my observation, this blade is different from other blades. In addition to reducing the thickness in the middle of the back of the blade, the front of the blade near the top is also significantly reduced in thickness.
2:The blade has a higher finishing accuracy (but still a little worse than metsugu).
