Additional Information: Used, in good condition. It comes from a retired carpenter in the Kansai region of Japan. This saw is one of the main saws he uses. This saw has not been "metate" recently and is still able to cut.
The blacksmith's mark on the saw is “橋本別製", It means Hashimoto special production. In the third picture, the boundary between steel and iron can be seen at the neck, indicating that the saw's tang and blade are forged rather than welded. Welded saws are usually of later age and are mostly factory-produced saws.
The words on the other side of the saw mean:
"神正“ —— "Sorry, currently unknown"
“别打“ —— ”Special Production“
”白紙“ —— “ white steel”
“愛媛 谷口” —— ” Ehime Prefecture, Taniguchi (Possibly the name of the customer who ordered the saw) “
