Additional Information: Highly likely to be an Okudo Suita, this stone comes from a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area and is coated with protective lacquer. Judging by its remaining thickness, this was clearly the carpenter's most frequently used Suita. Although it is highly hard, it possesses incredible cutting power and offers a smooth sharpening experience. The veins (suji) on the surface do not cause any catching or gritty sensation during use, easily yielding a near-mirror finish. It is exceptionally well-suited for sharpening tools.
