The carved characters on the end of the wooden handle record the type and origin of the wood. 「北海道松前町產山桑」means Morus bombyci produced in Matsumae Town, Hokkaido.
Takagi Junichi's blacksmith shop is located in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. He mainly makes high-quality Chouna and Nata. He opened his own business in 1957. This Nata was custom-made by a knife collector around 2000.
