Additional Information:  This is the third Uchigumori Suita (内曇巣板) in this batch, and a textbook example of a high-grade, virtually flawless Ohira stone with no lines. Sourced from a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area, its sides and back are sealed with protective lacquer.

He purchased this piece back in the Showa era; Uchigumori stones virtually free of lines like this have become exceedingly rare and expensive today.

While offering a similarly strong cutting speed to the first two stones, this one is the hardest and finest in texture among the three, providing very smooth sharpening feedback. It rapidly produces a beautiful kasumi finish with high-contrast jigane grain, making it an excellent choice for both woodworking tools and kitchen knives.
