He custom-ordered it about 25 to 30 years ago, and it was primarily crafted by Masayuki, the eldest son of Shigefusa. The blade features a hand-engraved signature (mei) reading 'Masayuki' (正行), with a 'Shigefusa' (重房) stamp mark below it.
According to the collector, the steel is noticeably harder than that of similar blades featuring the “Shigefusa” mark. In terms of overall craftsmanship and refinement, it is virtually identical to blades stamped with 'Shigefusa'. Additionally, if you look closely at the jigane , you can observe a subtle, faint texture running through the metal.
