火造りっばなし」Hitsukuri-Banashi means “ As-forged“ —  This style looks rough, but it is actually the most difficult type of hammer to hand forge. It takes many years of forging experience for the blacksmith. Tools made in this style cannot be shaped with any files or grinders at a later stage, so they need to be hammered out quickly to create the most accurate shape possible during the forging stage.
