This chisel was made by the third generation kanetake based on Kiyotada Kakuuchi Tatakinomi ten years ago. More suitable for modern carpenters who use a combination of power tools and hand chisels.
The ura at that time was polishing finish. In order to adapt to the habits of carpenters in the Tokyo area, it was changed to black finish later. In my experience, the chisel steel of the 4th generation Kanetake is more brittle, and some professional carpenters told me that the 3rd generation steel is more balanced.
