Additional Information: Used and restored chisel. The black oxide layer has been removed from the surface. I have performed a basic sharpening, honing both the bevel and the ura (back) to approximately 1000 grit. Acquired from a retired carpnter, the handle was custom-made and fitted by him, including the hoop. From what I can see, the craftsmanship is high-quality and likely originates from a Kanto smith. If that weren't the case, the woodworker wouldn't have invested the effort to restore it and mount a handle to keep as part of his personal kit.
