This book traces the rich blacksmithing culture from the Kamakura and Muromachi periods to the Heisei period, including the legendary masterpiece "Shinrei" by Chiyozuru Korehide, a master blacksmith who switched from swordsmithing to blacksmithing carpentry tools. This is the first collection of 222 photographs by photographer Akiyama Minoru, who has been taking photos of precious carpentry tools for over half a century.
