According to some information, in the Sanjo area in the 1990s. Tobei have better skills and his works are more expensive than Kinshiro. The blacksmith who usually makes the blades for Tobei planes is unknown, but this is a rare case of a plane made by a collaboration between a highly skilled blacksmith and a wooden body artisan from the Niigata region.

The plane is made of good materials and made with high precision. After more than 20 years, it has hardly deformed. The blade has a silver finish because Mr. Tobei sharpened the blade to improve its precision so that it could better fit the wooden body.

There is some information about the wood body artisan on page 113 of the book. - 『Dougu Mandala』Tool Mandala by Muramatsu Teijiro
