Metate Tool "Hasami-ita" for Japanese saws

Tool Name: Hasami-ita/挟み板 (It can be translated as “Wooden Clamp”)

Types of wood: Japanese zelkova(Keyaki)；Possibly cherry wood (wooden wedge)

Additional Information: Unused. It came from a collector in the Tokyo area and has been preserved for over 20 years. It was made by a skilled carpenter using high-quality wood; the fourth photo shows the gap between the two planks when they are clamped together. It has been preserved for a long time, but the two planks have not warped(as shown in the fourth photo, there is an almost invisible gap between the two pieces of wood clamped together).

The last photo shows an example of it in “metate” (the saw is not included in this item).
