Additional Information: Used condition, Sourced from a retired miyadaiku (shrine carpenter) in the Kansai region—the same craftsman behind the two recently listed Sakata planes. I have resharpened it, finishing both the bevel and the ura to #1000 grit. During sharpening, the steel performed very well, likely being Shirogami No. 2 (White Paper Steel #2).
This chisel features honest, conventional workmanship. While the sides and top of the blade do not have concave hollows shaped into them, the chisel is neatly and solidly constructed throughout. It serves as a fully competent, production-oriented mukoumachi-nomi (mortise chisel).
