Additional Information: Unused, in good condition. It came from retired carpenters in the Niigata region. The chisel "kuchigane" and the ring are handmade.
This chisel is likely an early work of the blacksmith, and it impressed me greatly. The two sides and top of the blade are concavely treated by hand tool - "sen". Ensures that the chisel can be easily pulled out even when making deep mortises. The depth of the "urasuki" section of the chisel decreases from deep to shallow, which is very reasonable. (See the last four photos.)
The neat file marks on the neck of the chisel and the exquisite finishing at the junction of the neck and the blade are remarkable.
