I once heard Mr. Tsuchida Noboru say that the reason Yokosaka Masato blades are of good quality and made relatively thin is because Yokosaka Masato master was Shibuki Bunmei(渋木文明), a plane blacksmith in Tokyo. According to online information, Shibuki Bunmei's hometown and Yokosaka's hometown are in Yoita machi, Niigata.
For the same 48mm blade, the Funahiro ko-ganna 48mm blade weighs around 170g, while the Yokosaka blade weighs 128g.
