Additional Information: A Suita of unknown origin, sourced from a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area and coated with protective lacquer. It is slightly softer than the Shohonyama Suita and has excellent cutting power. However, due to its pitted surface (su), there is an occasional gritty sensation during use, which may cause minor micro-scratches on the bevel. It produces a near-semi-mirror finish and is highly suitable for sharpening chisels (nomi) and plane blades (kanna).
