Suita Japanese Natural Finishing Stone - 605g
Size: 115mmx75~85mmx25mm
Weight: 605g, including cork base
Additional Information: A Suita of unknown origin, sourced from a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area, coated with protective lacquer, and mounted on a base. This particular Suita left a deep impression on me; it is highly hard—the hardest among this batch of uploaded Suitas—yet exceptionally pure. When used directly, it yields a near-mirror finish. However, raising a slurry beforehand using a Nagura or an old diamond plate makes it much easier to use, resulting in an even stronger contrast on the bevel (where the cladding/soft iron becomes darker than when sharpened directly) while still achieving a near-mirror finish. It is very suitable for tool sharpening.
