Additional Information: It is unused and in excellent condition. This piece was crafted by the 3rd-generation master of Tokyo tailoring shears, Chotaro.
The Chotaro lineage has preserved its traditional craftsmanship for over a century, spanning back to the Meiji era. The 1st-generation Chotaro apprenticed under Yoshida Yajuro (brand name: Yakichi), a former swordsmith celebrated as the founding father of Japanese tailoring shears, and went on to establish the workshop in Meiji 34 (1901). The 2nd-generation master, Ishizuka Kotaro (石塚光太郎, passed away in Showa 38 (1963). The 3rd-generation Chotaro began honing his craft under his father, the 2nd generation, right after graduating from junior high school in Showa 9 (1934).
