Tataki nomi by Kiyotada with mark of 天峯(Amamine). This mark belongs to nagaoka wholesaler in Sanjo Niigata Prefecture. Nagaoka wholesaler has sold kiyoyada chisels under many different brand names. Some of these marks contained the two Chinese characters for “清忠(Kiyotada)”.
A story I heard, the owner of the suiheya store was very angry when he found out about these marks. Because he is the owner of the Kiyotada mark (legally). To avoid conflicts, Nagaoka Store uses some marks that do not include Kiyotada at all. But the part of the tang that is not visible to the chisel is usually with the Kiyotada mark. (The third picture)
