Judging by the precision of its craftsmanship, this yari-ganna is believed to have been made prior to 2000. Due to a high volume of orders for standard flat planes (hira-ganna), Usui Kengo produced very few yari-ganna —reputedly no more than 10 pieces (subject to verification).
