This extended Kuriko Katana knife is a custom version originally commissioned by a craftsman from a well-known Tokyo handcrafted furniture brand. During their work, they found that standard-sized Kuriko Katana knives were inefficient for shaving and carving due to their short cutting stroke, and inconvenient as they could only be used one-handed. This lengthened version was created to solve those issues.

The final photo is included to provide a better sense of this knife's length, shown side by side with a standard kiridashi knife for scale.
