Nakaya Shogoro was a saw blacksmith based in Wakino-machi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. While detailed biographical records on him remain scarce at present, he is believed to have been a disciple within the lineage of Nakaya Shobei (1818–1860), the founding figure of Wakino-machi sawmaking.
