Genno Japanese Hand Made Hammer by Hiroki - 200 Monme

Additional Information: Unused, in good condition, made by the hammer blacksmith Hiroki Aida about 10 years ago with high production precision. Due to long-term display in a shop window, the top side of the hammer has some minor surface rust from air exposure. The bottom side is significantly cleaner. The rust does not impact functionality in any way.

The reason I included the data on the eye's Vertical-to-horizontal ratio is as follows (particularly for large slender hammers):

In the article 「「Shape of Carpentry Tools - About the Genno，[Part 3] Holes and Handle」, p38, Knife Magazine No. 10, 2010.」 by Mr. Tsuchida Noboru, it is mentioned:

“To the extent that the strength of the handle tip can be maintained, it is best to make the eye as small as possible. An eye with a vertical-to-horizontal ratio of about 3:1 is, based on experience, considered an effective design. However, the more elongated, narrower, and smaller the eye is, the more advanced manufacturing techniques will be required. This is only natural, as a larger eye allows for a greater margin of error during the forging process.”
