






Japanese Hand made Checkering Files
Specially custom-ordered from a master craftsman, this is a hand-cut checkering file.
Because the artisan is elderly and has stated they may not be able to continue production much longer, this is a rare item that could discontinue at any time.

Additional Information: These hand-cut files come from a tool collector based in the Tokyo area. Among them, No. 7 and No. 9 were crafted by the master Edo-file maker, Fukasawa Toshio (深澤敏夫,the third-generation). His family has been hand-making files since the Meiji era, spanning a legacy of 140 years. Born on October 3, 1941 (Showa 16), Mr. Fukasawa retired a few years ago around 2018.
