Additional Information: The chisel is pre-owned but remains in good condition. It comes from a retired Tateguya artisan in the Tokyo area. I have completed the basic sharpening, conditioning both the bevel and the ura (back) up to 1000 grit.
Although the wooden handle is slightly warped due to years of heavy use, the craftsmanship of the blade itself is incredibly fine. The last four photos show the top of the blade, the beautiful concave details on both sides, and the ideal depth distribution of the ura.
