Additional Information: This is a typical Nakayama Koppa (中山コッパ). It has a very fine yet hard texture, so sharpening directly with just water tends to feel somewhat sticky and sluggish. For the best performance, it is recommended to work up a light slurry beforehand using a nagura or a well-worn, fine diamond flattening plate. It produces a gorgeous, near-mirror finish.
