Additional Information: Unused, in excellent condition, and in brand-new state. It comes from the private collection of a retired Miya-daiku (shrine and temple carpenter) in Chiba. According to him, the jigane (cladding iron) is watetsu (native Japanese iron), though I suspect it could also be high-grade kamaji (wrought iron).
"Kanehiro" is a wholesaler brand. While identifying the specific blacksmith is difficult, judging from the craftsmanship and the feedback I've gathered, I consider Kanehiro chisels to be among the more dependable wholesaler-branded tools from the Sanjo region.
