Additional Information: Unused, in brand new condition. This piece comes from the collection of a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area. While a 15mm tataki-nomi is typically kaku-uchi (square profile), this chamfered (mentori) version was custom-ordered by the carpenter from the blacksmith Kunikei. According to him, it was crafted for greater convenience when chopping mortises with a trapezoidal cross-section.
