Tool set contents:

1. Bucksaw. 「Blade length 67mm;Weight: about 1400g」

2. Japanese hand made cross cut saw(Yokobiki Noko). This saw is used more frequently in this set of tools, mainly for cutting logs. Blacksmith's name unknown. 「Blade length 550mm;Full length 1100mm;Weight: about 880g」

For detailed instructions on this saw, please refer here: https://tenmoku0701.myshopify.com/blogs/some-trivial-small-talk/japanese-hand-saw

3. Japanese hand made cross cut saw( Gando-noko), A large professional carpenter's saw used for Rough cut large log structures and chopping logs. Judging from the resin-like substance remaining on the teeth of this saw, it was probably used mainly to cut off excess branches on logs. Blacksmith's name is Inoue Yoshimitsu (井上吉光). 「Blade length 420mm;Full length 930mm;Weight: about 500g」

4. Japanese handmade log bark scraper(Kawa-muki). The blade of this tool is a hand-made laminated construction. I was impressed by the handle, which is not a simple straight round wooden stick, but similar to the hammer handle used in Anaya-daiku. The handle is easy to hold and saves effort. 「Blade length 108mm;Full length 625mm;Weight: about 450g」

5&6. Two Japanese hand made laminated axes. Judging from the shape of the axes, they should be the work of a local farm tool blacksmith. The style is relatively rough. 「Blade length 75mm;Full length 510mm&580mm;Weight: about 890g&1080g」

7. Japanese handmade laminated sickle for forestry. 「Blade length 195mm;Full length 520mm;Weight: about 340g」

8. A kind of western axe. The name is lathing hatchet. The rust is quite serious and it seems that it has not been used much. 「Blade length 52mm;Full length 285mm;Weight: about 600g」

9. Hand Drill. The sheath is made of bamboo. 「Full length 800mm;Weight: about 240g」

10. Japanese hand made paring chisel(Usunomi or Tsukinomi). The jigane part of the blade uses traditional Japanese iron (Watetsu). The chamfering of the chisel shoulder is very interesting. Probably the work of a local blacksmith in the early 20th century. 「Blade length 48mm;Full length 460mm;Weight: about 339g」

11&12. Japanese hand made Pickaroon (鳶口/Tobiguchi). It is a wood-handled metal-topped log handling tool. They are well made and the thick end of the handle makes it difficult to slip out of your hand when using it to move logs. 「Full length 225mm&315mm;Weight: about 118g&131g」

13. 焼きゴテ・Yakigote, a traditional soldering iron. The head looks like it's made of copper. 「Full length 355mm;Weight: about 236g」

14. A rough ink pot. 「Full length 165mm;Weight: about 219g」

15. Japanese hand-knitted backpack made of straw. The bottom of the backpack was damaged on one side. 「Length 430mm;Width 380mm;Weight: about 620g」

16. Saw tooth setter. There is also a tooth setter on the wooden sheath of the No. 2 saw. 「Full length 105mm」
