Additional Information:  This is the second Uchigumori Suita in this batch, also from the Ohira mine. Sourced from a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area, its sides and back are sealed with protective lacquer.

He purchased this piece back in the Showa era; Uchigumori stones virtually free of lines like this have become exceedingly rare and expensive today.

In terms of performance, it shares a similarly strong cutting speed with the first piece, but is slightly softer in comparison and offers an even smoother sharpening feedback. It quickly produces an attractive kasumi finish, making it well-suited for both woodworking tools and kitchen knives.
