Additional Information: Sourced from the descendant of a retired carpenter in the Kanto region, this chisel is in good condition with plenty of service life remaining. I have performed a basic sharpening, the bevel to 1000 grit and the ura to 1000 grit. Even though you can see the coarse file marks from its shaping, the precision is quite good.  The handle appears to be custom-fitted by the carpenter himself, with a striking hoop added to the butt end, suggesting it was frequently used for heavy-duty work with a hammer.
